Land needed for sheltered homes
Builder
No new developments are required in the qualified sector
Jersey will have to identify some new sites to build enough sheltered housing for the future, according to a report.

The study into the availability of land said the island was in one of the best situations it had been for years but there was no room for complacency.

The States said more four and five bedroom family homes were needed, and providing more sheltered housing could encourage older people to move.

Some land may have to be released to build smaller, more appropriate homes.

The report said new homes built in the qualified sector have been unprecedented in the past few years and no new developments were required.
