Tax office questioned over system
Pay slip
Jersey's new system is similar to Pay As You Earn in the UK
Advisors at Jersey's Income Tax offices say they have been inundated with questions from members of the public about the planned new tax system.

The Income Tax Instalment System will operate on money being paid in monthly instalments rather than a yearly sum.

Staff said they had been asked about how much tax-payers would be paying - the "effective rate".

The system is part of new measures being introduced to tackle possible falling revenues in the next few years.
