Early childhood centre planned
Building Blocks
Many youth and parenting services will work together
A centre to cater for all aspects of early childhood education is to be built on the site of a former Jersey primary school.

The Education Authority wants to develop an integrated children's centre where St Mark's School once stood.

Services such as the Jersey Child Care Trust, the Youth Service and the Parenting Team will work together at the centre.

The centre, aimed at children under 12, is due to open in January 2006.

There will be a speech and language therapy service and a creche.

Youth workers, the family nursing service and adult education will also be represented.

Pupils from St Mark's school now attend the new D'Auvergne School which opened this term.
