Prison chief can dock staff's pay
Jersey's prison governor has been given new powers by the island's politicians.

Stephen Gibbons has now been given the authority to dock the pay of prison officers who have broken the disciplinary rules at La Moye.

Previously, such a sanction could only be enforced by the island's Home Affairs Committee.

Now Mr Gibbons has been given the authority to report his actions retrospectively to the politicians who administer the island's penal system.
