Glass in rubbish leads to delays
Plastic bottles for recycling
There are normally two rubbish collections a week
Rubbish bins were not collected in the Le Geyt area of Jersey for 11 days because residents were mixing glass with the rest of their rubbish.

There are normally two refuse collections a week.

Officials from the parish of St Saviour were worried staff could be hurt if shards flew out of the dustcart when the glass was crushed.

The bins were finally emptied on Friday and a meeting is being held to resolve the problem.
