People living in the Bellozane area of Jersey are to have their say on the future of the island's waste plant. The waste plant is coming to the end of its useful life and does not meet the required emissions standard.
Maintenance costs at the waste to energy plant at Bellozane are also said to be too high.
The issue of the plant and the level of recycling in the island will be debated at a public meeting on Wednesday at First Tower School.
Jersey currently recycles about 9% of combustible and biodegradable waste.
This figure falls short of some European countries which manage about 14%.
