Jersey braced for gas price rise
Gas prices in Jersey look set to rise as oil prices reach an all time high.

Jersey Gas said it has tried to absorb global price increases but the latest rises in international oil prices means gas bills are likely to go up.

It is not yet known how much prices may increase by, but UK power companies are warning of a 15% rise while electricity bills on Sark are set to go up by 16%.

Meanwhile there are warnings that petrol prices could also rise because of the cost of crude oil.
