Inmates at Jersey's prison are taking part in a 10-hour challenge to raise money for a sick child. About 70 prisoners will use gym equipment on New Year's Eve to cover the distance between London and Paris.
They are being sponsored to complete the 480 miles (773km) to help pay for the treatment of a five-year-old girl.
Emily Corbel suffered brain damage three years ago and has to travel from the island to a hospital on the mainland five times a year.
A senior officer at La Moye Prison says the inmates and staff want to do something to help Emily and her family.
