Volunteers visit prison inmates
Inmates at La Moye prison in Jersey are receiving volunteer visitors.

It is part of a 'Prison Week' scheme aimed at reaching out to prisoners and their families.

The pastoral care of inmates on the island was handled by Captain John Le Page, a dedicated Chaplin who has now retired from his post.

The work, now being carried out by Sister Hilary Brown and two other volunteers, also includes helping out families of prisoners.

Sister Hilary says Prison Week is about being there to listen to people who need a friendly ear and is not a religious initiative.
