Movable traffic island for road
A new movable traffic island is being put in place in Jersey.

The island outside the General Hospital in St Helier was removed for a few days while roads along Gloucester Street and The Parade junction were resurfaced.

The new island is being put in place there instead to make it cheaper and easier to lift up if work needs to be done to the road again.

It will be constructed of heavy-duty rubber and then bolted onto the surface of the road.
