The Jersey Victuallers Association is to disband. Most pub managers in the island have joined the alternative pressure group the British Institute of Inn Keeping.
The treasurer of the Victuallers Association, Bill Doyle, says it is a sad blow for the industry.
Mr Doyle says the association has had firm links with charity work but has also been a strong voice representing pubs in the island.
He said: "I just feel sad because it was a tradition everyone was associated with in the trade.
"Now it's changed - it's still associated with the institute of inn keepers, but it's not the same as the licensed victuallers."
At the association's final meeting in August, members distribute 7,000 to local charities.
The ladies auxiliary branch of the licensed victuallers is also to close.
