Fire exit problems are affecting the Muslim community's worship |
Muslims in Jersey are considering setting up a charity to help them pay for a new place to worship. The island's Islamic community is still looking for a new place to pray because of fire safety concerns at the temporary mosque.
Leaders of the 200-strong community have made appeals for help to find a new venue but have been unsuccessful.
They have now decided to try a different approach and are looking to set up a charity to help funding.
Muslims are still meeting in the back room of a Turkish restaurant in St Helier but this cannot continue because of the lack of fire exits.
