Almost 100 support staff would like a professional association |
Teaching assistants and other support staff in Jersey are hoping to form a professional association to represent their views. Alison Lees, a teaching assistant at Grainville School, believes an island-wide association would provide a support network for staff.
She says in recent years the role has become increasingly professional.
Almost 100 people who attended a meeting at Grainville School expressed an interest in signing up.
The body would deal with a variety of issues, including training and employment.
Once a committee has been formed, the organisation may consider joining a UK union.
