Head is appointed for new school
A head teacher has been appointed for a new school in Jersey.

Ann Curzons will be in charge of D'Auvergne School when it opens next September, and will leave her post at St Luke's School in Georgetown.

The new school will combine the students from the existing St Mark's and La Pouquelaye schools.

Mrs Curzons said she was "delighted" at her appointment. She will be replaced at St Luke's by Caryn Stone from Trinity School.

Ms Stone will in turn be replaced by Kath Rodgers from St Mark's.

Senator Mike Vibert, the politician in charge of education, has welcomed the appointments.

He said he was especially pleased all the staff have been found from within the island.
