Jersey lined up for more cruises
More cruise ships are to visit Jersey this year.

Eleven liners will come to Jersey compared with six last year after a campaign by the harbour authority and the island's tourism department.

They met cruise ship companies and agents, trying to attract some of the smaller, more exclusive liners.

With only shallow sheltered anchorages, the island has struggled to attract the larger vessels which often visit Guernsey.

Jersey Harbours says it will be a couple of years at least before the island is established as an alternative and attractive destination for cruise ships.
