Police aim to recruit volunteers
The St Helier police force is hoping to recruit 28 more officers.

Jersey's largest honorary police will be explaining its role in the community at an exhibition at the Town Hall on Saturday from 1030 GMT until 1730.

Saturday's open day follows a similar one which was held earlier this month in Grouville.

The idea is to give parishioners the chance to meet the people who give up their time for free to help ensure the parish is properly policed.

Any concerns parishioners may have can be raised with the vingteniers and centeniers.

The parish is also looking for 12 people to serve on its parish support team.

It will be launching a new leaflet explaining the role of the Honorary Police in Jersey.
