Protest over TV Occupation series
German soldiers
The series was based on the fictional island of St Gregory
Two Guernsey pensioners have collected more than 1,000 signatures in protest against a TV series about the Occupation.

Enid Campbell-White and Pearl White-Regan will be sending their petition to Granada TV next week.

They believe the Island at War drama series misrepresented island history and they are concerned about the content of future programmes.

Mrs Campbell-White said it was important islanders make the protest.

She said: "They have hinted that they would like to do a second series and if they do, then the research has to be done very thoroughly.

"I understand that they carried out research on Jersey, but used Guernsey history so I hope they carry out research over here."

The series is a dramatisation of the German Occupation of the Channel Islands, set in the fictional island of St Gregory.
