Post prices to rise
Letter being posted
Post prices will increase in April
People in Jersey will be paying more to send letters through Jersey Post from next April.

The price of stamps is rising again to meet the demands of the Royal Mail.

The price of a local stamp will rise by three pence to 32 pence. A stamp to the UK will cost 33 pence.

The Postal Committee says it regrets the need to introduce further increases.

International mail

In 2002, Jersey Post announced the Royal Mail wanted 9m over three years to continue handling post from the island.

In March, it introduced the first set of price rises to help meet the cost. Now it says the new increases, which will take effect on 6 April, are also needed.

Parcels and packages will cost up to 10% more depending on their weight.

Sending international mail, including postcards and aerogrammes, will rise by up to 2.6%.
