Memorial planned for commentator

Geoff Cannell
Mr Cannell died last September

A memorial service for the late Geoff Cannell will be held in Manx Grand Prix week later this month.

Mr Cannell, who commentated on the grand prix and the TT Races, died last September, aged 65.

He was also an MHK, school governor and member of the Board of Education for Douglas West.

Chairman of the Manx Motorcycle Club Bill Bennett said the grandstand was like a second home to Mr Cannell during the grand prix race fortnight.

The service will be held in the pit lane on 17 August.

Those attending are being asked to dress informally and colourfully.
