Refurbished catamaran to set sail

Ben my Chree, Viking and Snaefell in Douglas Harbour
All three ships have new livery and a new logo

The fast passenger catamaran Snaefell, formerly the Sea Express One, starts her summer service with the Isle of Man Steam Packet Company this week.

All the company's three vessels have now been refurbished and rebranded, with SuperSeaCat Two renamed Viking.

Both ships, along with the Ben my Chree, have new livery with a new logo and new staff uniforms.

The new-look Snaefell makes her first run to Liverpool at 0730 BST on Monday morning.

Chief Executive of the Steam Packet, Mark Woodward, said seeing the new-look vessels together was "fantastic".

Premium lounges

He said: "We launched the revamped design earlier this year, but this is the first time since then that we'll have had all three vessels in service together.

"To look down from Douglas Head and see the three of them lined up together, preparing to sail in their new livery, is a fantastic sight."

The company has also revised the former first class and "blue riband" services.

First class has been renamed the Manannan premium lounge and blue riband the Manannan Executive Club.

Each ship also has a new Niarbyl lounge, where passengers can pre-book reserved seats, and all lounges have been decorated with the new branding and corporate colours.
