Calls for review of airport plans
An Onchan MHK is calling for a reappraisal of the scheme for a runway extension at Ronaldsway Airport.

Peter Karran says planning consent for the project has been given based on inaccurate runway lengths.

Mr Karran will ask Transport Minister David Anderson whether his department will consider scrapping the eastern extension into the sea altogether.

Last week he accused the President, Noel Cringle, of a cover-up when his questions on the plans were disallowed.

The President told Mr Karran the matter was currently undergoing a planning appeal and as such, he was out of order in pursuing it.
