Jeremy Clarkson met with MHKs on Friday |
A compromise looks set to be struck between Manx ramblers, who walk on the Langness Peninsula, and its famous resident Jeremy Clarkson. The TV presenter has come under fire from walking groups after he fenced-off a section of his land, to increase his family's privacy.
This blocked off an unofficial path that has long been used by walkers.
Local officials have been in consultation with Mr Clarkson and are hopeful of reaching an agreement soon.
Mr Clarkson owns sheep on the land around the Langness Lighthouse and has previously had problems with people walking dogs on his land.
The route is not a public right of way but what is known as a "permissive" path.
Mr Clarkson invited local MHKs and Department of Transport officials to lunch at his home last Friday to try and find a solution to the problem.
