Minister 'hopeful' for air route
BA plane at Isle of Man airport
The BA Connect services stopped last year
The Isle of Man's transport minister said he is hopeful that the island's air link to Luton will be restored.

The route, which attracted 55,000 passengers in 2006, was dropped by BA Connect in October and more recently, Aer Arran.

David Anderson said the route was very well travelled.

He said the future takeover of BA connect by Flybe will mean that all routes will be re-examined, and the Luton service may be reinstated.

Mr Anderson said: "It is a great disappointment that the Luton route is not there now.

"It does have an impact on the island's travellers, because the north of London is not being serviced and it creates quite a lot of difficulties."
