Sufferers are urged to stay away from Noble's Hospital
A ward at Nobles Hospital on the Isle of Man has been closed to tackle an outbreak of winter vomiting virus.

The bug, the norovirus, affected several patients and staff at the Braddan hospital on Wednesday.

Some cases have also been reported at old people's homes leading health officials to fear it could spread across the Isle of Man.

Those affected with the virus are advised to contact their doctor by telephone and not visit the hospital.

The virus, which causes sickness and diarrhoea, can be spread for up to 48 hours after an apparent recovery has been made.

Sufferers are urged not to go to Noble's A&E with symptoms because the bug is so contagious.
