A major review of services at Noble's Hospital on the Isle of Man is to take place. The review is to be carried out by the Healthcare Commission, which is the assessor of NHS and independent healthcare in England.
It will look at how admissions are organised, how diagnostic services are planned and how medicine and pharmacy services are managed.
Health chiefs say the check up will ensure people receive the best care.
The review team will be seeking the views of the public, and that process will take place next month.
