Teenage cyclist hit by wheel dies
A 13-year-old cyclist who was seriously injured in a collision with a wheel which flew off a lorry on the Isle of Man has died in hospital.

James Robert Berry, of Governors Hill, Douglas, was among a group of cyclists on the A1 when the crash happened near the Hawthorne public house at Greeba.

Police said the wheel became detached from a lorry travelling towards them.

The road was closed between Ballacraine and Crosby post office for three hours after the accident on Thursday.

A BMW car, driven by a 37-year-old woman from Douglas, was also involved in the accident.

James was a year nine student at Ballakermeen High School, Douglas.
