Cyclist, 13, hit by lorry wheel
A 13-year-old cyclist was seriously injured in a collision with a wheel which flew off a lorry travelling across the Isle of Man.

The boy was among a group of cyclists heading towards Douglas on the A1 when the accident happened close to the Hawthorne public house at Greeba.

Police said the wheel became detached from a lorry travelling towards them.

The road was closed between Ballacraine and Crosby post office for three hours after the accident on Thursday.

A BMW car, driven by a 37-year-old woman from Douglas, was also involved in the accident.
