Pregnant women on the Isle of Man are now able to have a water birth after a donation from a trust. The Henry Bloom Noble Healthcare Trust has paid for the purchase and installation of a birthing pool at Noble's Hospital.
Previously women wanting a water birth have had to pay to hire a pool at home.
Steve Rodan, minister for health and social security, said the midwifery team was "very proud and excited" to have the new facilities.
He added: "It will certainly enhance the choice and care we provide for our parents to be."
