Flights between Guernsey, Jersey and Alderney resume

Guernsey Airport's runway
Inter-island routes are below controlled airspace altitude

Flights between the Channel Islands have reopened after restrictions were lifted on inter-island routes.

Restrictions were first imposed across UK airspace on Thursday amid concerns that a volcanic ash cloud drifting from Iceland could jam aircraft engines.

However, the ban was lifted for a few hours for the Channel Islands on Friday before being reinstated in the evening.

It was lifted again mid-morning on Saturday as these routes are below controlled airspace altitude.

Controlled UK airspace is to stay shut until at least 1900 BST on Sunday which has resulted in all domestic flights remaining grounded.
