Landsbanki Guernsey went into administration in October |
Savers with money in the failed Landsbanki Guernsey bank are holding a second meeting with the island's Chief Minister Lyndon Trott. Landsbanki went into administration last October. So far savers with the Guernsey branch have only been given 30% of their money back. The Landsbanki Guernsey Depositor's Action Group said it would be looking for signs of progress between Guernsey and the UK and Icelandic Governments. Neil Dickens, the LGDAG chairman, said: "The longer this takes, the more questions depositors have. "Even though the chief minister has alluded to possible States help in the event of a shortfall, we want to find out what prospects he feels we have for the 100% return of depositors' monies." A depositor protection scheme was introduced in Guernsey in November last year. More than 2,000 people had 117.3m saved in Landsbanki Guernsey when the bank was put into administration.
