Guernsey is top financial centre

Guernsey has been named International Finance Centre of the Year.

The island came ahead of Jersey and the British Virgin Islands at the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners Private Client Awards.

The award was for the island's "forward thinking fiduciary industry" which manages trusts.

Low tax and death duties make Guernsey a popular offshore finance centre with financial services making up 32% of total income.
