Plan for new ferry link to France
A new Channel Island ferry service could start running to France.

A group of investors are behind the plan for a privately run daily route between Guernsey and Cherbourg.

They are in talks with existing island ferry companies to operate the new route. It is hoped to have the service running by October.

The move has been supported by deputy Sean Power who said extra passenger and freight services were needed to add vital competition to the market.
