Meetings debate island tax change
People in Guernsey are being given their last opportunities to voice opinions about tax changes planned for the island.

The first of three public meetings about the Future Economic and Taxation Strategy is due to take place on Wednesday evening.

The strategy itself will come before the States at the end of June.

It proposes cutting Corporation Tax and ways to fill budget deficits of up to �50m caused by the tax's scrapping.

The other public meetings will be held on 15 and 22 June.

Guernsey States is planning to abolish corporation tax in 2008 to keep the island competitive as an off-shore banking centre.
