Building work has started on new premises for a bereavement counselling service in Guernsey. The confidential service, which is run by trained volunteers, was set up in the early 1990s.
It has helped more than 300 islanders in the past year and is expanding due to increasing demand.
The first brick of the new Guernsey Bereavement Service building will be laid on Friday afternoon by Bailiff Geoff Rowland.
The focus will then turn to raising funds to help with the building work.
