Puffins prepare to leave islands
Puffins from the Channel Islands are expected to start their annual summer migration to the North Atlantic in the next few days.

The tiny birds are expected to leave Jersey, Guernsey, Jethou and Herm this week offering birdwatchers the last opportunity to see them.

The adult birds will desert their chicks, who will have to make the long journey on their own.

About 200 different species of the bird are known to use the Channel Islands.
