Large numbers of puffins are being seen in Guernsey's waters. Organisers of boat trips to see local seabirds are delighted with the sightings during May.
The local RSPB said as many as 30 puffins can be seen around Herm and Jethou at any one time.
The tiny birds only return to land to breed and Tony Grange, publicity officer for the charity, says people are extremely lucky to see them in the island's waters.
The area is their most southerly breeding site in the British Isles.
Many other seabirds, such as the nationally important numbers of shag, can be seen on the puffin patrols, which depart from the Albert Pier at 1800 BST every Monday, Wednesday and Thursday throughout June.
