Group considers competition issue
The States has announced it is to set up a working party to look into competition issues in Guernsey.

The decision comes after a number of concerns about market dominance in local food retailing.

The issue was raised after the purchase of the Morrisons supermarkets in Jersey and Guernsey by CI Traders, who already run Checkers and Le Riche stores.

The new working group is to be chaired by Commerce and Employment Department member deputy Leon Gallienne.

The group begins its work on Tuesday when it meets for the first time.
