Airline denies hidden price claim
Airplane
The council is asking airlines to review their pricing policies
Claims that passengers are being misled when buying flights on the internet are being denied by a low cost airline.

Jersey Consumer Council says people are tempted with tickets which are shown at low prices, but are then shocked with the total which includes surcharges.

It wants airlines to provide a price breakdown so people know exactly what they are paying for.

But Flybe, one of the island's main airlines, says customers are made aware of the cost of a flight before booking.

Deputy Alan Breckon, the council's chairman, says there either needs to be a clearer itemised bill for buyers, or flight prices advertised initially with all charges included.

He says different airlines charge different fees which adds to the confusion. The council has written to various low cost airlines who advertise low price offers on the internet to ask them to review their policies.

Ian Taylor from Flybe says he has heard nothing from the council and claims all his company's advertising includes taxes and charges.
