Second firm could enter 3G market
A second company could be licensed to provide 3G mobile services in Guernsey.

Wave Telecom has the technology already but it is thought the expanding market means there is scope for more.

3G mobiles provide a faster phone service to conventional handsets as well as offering additional products to the user such as internet access.

The new licence could mean more phone masts being built depending on whether agreements can be made on sharing existing masts.
