There has been criticism of an overspend at Beau Sejour |
A States committee is to investigate why the renovation of Guernsey's leisure centre went over-budget. It was reported last week that work on Beau Sejour cost nearly 2m more than the 9m originally agreed by deputies.
The Public Accounts Committee will question Dave Chilton, Chief Officer of the Culture and Leisure Department, at a private hearing on 26 April.
Deputy Treasury Minister Charles Parkinson has urged the States to improve its project management.
Treasury Minister Lyndon Trott has said that 3m of repair work to Guernsey's Royal Court is essential.
Later this month the States will be asked to approve the funds to construct an annex at the courts.
Mr Trott backed the expenditure, saying the court development was unusual. He said it would release valuable parcels of land that can be sold to contribute towards the costs of the repairs agreed some time ago.
