New airline service is announced
Flybe plane: Flybe
The airline says the new route shows its commitment to Guernsey
Guernsey is set to have another air route to the UK next year.

Airline Flybe has announced that it will be launching a new service between Guernsey and Norwich from 26 March 2006.

It will operate four days a week and the company said it would increase tourism to Guernsey, boosting the island's economy.

Flybe hopes the new service will help it to tap into business and leisure markets in the south east of England.

Island commitment

It said Norwich was a city rich in heritage and was the perfect base from which to explore the south east.

Spokesman Ian Taylor said: "Our new route shows our ongoing commitment to Guernsey.

"This service will open up a huge new catchment area for Guernsey in terms of visitors to the island and for island residents travelling to this part of England."
