Careers information for islanders
Young people in Guernsey who are looking for information on careers and training are attending the island's annual careers convention.

The 2005 convention is offering information on numerous careers, including the military, media, teaching and building trades.

It also covers further education on the island and at UK universities.

Geoff Martel, the event organiser, says it is important to find out what employers are looking for.

The event is aimed mainly at young people but will also be useful for parents, teachers, youth workers and adults who may be considering a change of career.
