Road danger fears on school site
A Guernsey riding school owner has criticised plans for a new school in the island.

Jenny Froome, of La Carriere Stables, believes the proposed secondary school at Les Nicolles is being built in the wrong place.

Ms Froome thinks roads in the area are too busy and too small to support the creation of a school.

She is very concerned about the danger to children, both at the school and at the stables.

She thinks the increase in traffic will be excessive, and will also cause problems for the buses and she would like to see traffic calming measures introduced in an attempt to slow down vehicles.

Similar concerns have been raised by local residents, but the Education Department predicts traffic will only increase by 10%.
