Approval sought for Bridge plans
Outline plans to redevelop a large part of Guernsey's Bridge are to go before States members for approval.

If the planning brief is given the go-ahead, the Leales Yard site could see new three to four story buildings.

The development may also feature a multi-level parking complex and also a new supermarket.

The Environment Department said the plans had undergone much public consultation and new buildings would be sympathetic with the look of the area.

Faith Rose from the department said of the development: "It's very careful to take account of the surrounding land and uses the changes in levels.

"People will find that where larger buildings are contemplated is towards the centre of the site, and that land levels will allow the heights of buildings to be disguised."
