A local estate agent says there is a strong choice of properties
A review of property sales in Guernsey has shown a striking growth in sales in recent months.

Between March and May this year, 294 houses were sold, up from 194 in the previous quarter.

Local estate agent, Spencer Noyon, says the situation is not unprecedented, with similar sales going through the courts in 2001 and 1996.

He believes the island's thriving economy is the main reason for the increase in sales.

He said: "What we're seeing at the moment is a combination of factors such as low interest rates, low unemployment and good salary figures.

"Generally we have a thriving economy, which I think is the main contributing factor, coupled with a strong choice of properties available at the moment."
