A cyclist from Guernsey is halfway through an arduous journey to the Arctic Circle to raise awareness of the global menace of landmines. Paul Meader has been battling against unseasonably bad weather while riding in a team of four from northern Sweden into the Arctic Circle.
The money raised by Mr Meader will go to the Mines Awareness Trust.
Although he is pleased with what he has achieved so far, he fears the hardest part of the trip is still to come.
Mr Meader said: "In order to get this journey done in two years, which logistically is the only way you can do it, you've got to cut it into two chunks.
"Ideally, I wouldn't have attempted 700 miles in seven days, but that's what I did.
"The next leg through the Arctic Circle is going to be a fair bit tougher I think."
