One in four people have mental health problems in their life |
A campaign has been started by a mental health charity in Guernsey to raise money for a new building. The appeal, by the island's branch of mental health support charity Mind, is hoping to raise 150,000 to change its current location.
It is based in a dilapidated temporary building in St Peter Port and wants to provide a meeting space for self support and counselling sessions.
About one in four people has some sort of mental health problem in their life.
Branch chairman Tim Loveridge approves of professional care given to sufferers of mental illness, but believes support outside the system is lacking and the new building would help address that.
