Guernsey's new public services minister plans to do his homework |
Several politicians in Guernsey have asked to serve on the new Public Services Department (PSD). The body is responsible for airports, harbours, roads, waste and water.
Deputy Bill Bell, the newly elected minister for the department, said there had been at least 12 expressions of interest for membership on the PSD.
But he said he was taking stock before deciding on the priorities for the department, saying he and the other new members had a lot to learn.
Mr Bell added: "Before I start making any predictions or any statements, I'm going to do my homework and then I will start to talk about it."

Meanwhile, the new treasury and finance minister, Lyndon Trott, has said Guernsey's finances will be managed more pro-actively under the new department.
Mr Trott said he was confident that the department's new structure would speed up States business.
He said: "Treasury and Finance is fundamental to the delivery of almost everything in this new States.
"Policies will be hammered out beforehand and the new department will be much more cohesive."
