Guernsey airport
Guernsey's Bailiff will officially open the airport terminal
Guernsey's new multi-million pound airport terminal will be officially opened on Thursday.

Several hundred people are expected to attend the invitation-only ceremony.

Bailiff Sir de Vic Carey has been chosen to open the terminal, a job performed by his grandfather who was also Bailiff, in 1939.

Guests, including representatives from the UK travel industry, will be given a tour around the building which cost 19m to build.

Island schoolchildren will also be playing a part in the event, with a representative from each parish school raising the parish flag.

The terminal will be fully operational from 19 April.
