Landlords want parents to be more concerned about their children |
Responsibility for underage drinking in Guernsey lies with the licensees as well as children themselves, according to the island's Crime Prevention Panel. The panel said there was no excuse to serve under-18s with alcohol.
The Guernsey Licensed Victuallers' Association and the Guernsey Alcohol and Drugs Advisory Council recently said responsibility lay with parents.
Crime Prevention chairman Paul Elliott said ID cards were available to try and help stop the problem.
Mr Elliott said anyone who was entitled to drink but concerned about not being served could get hold of them from the island's police station.
